Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of her home town. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder is a self-described Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder moved with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. There they didn't have electricity. Ryder was a prolific reader due to the lack of television. Ryder, then 12, was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Ryder landed her first film role on the big screen in 1986, when she was 15 years old. Ryder was bullied in high school. Ryder believed that her future as an actor would be able to bring about change. Unfortunately that didn't come to be. It didn't stop her from pursuing dreams. In 1988 she had her breakthrough role in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued playing characters that made a splash in several movies. In 1993, she received an Oscar Prize in the film The Age of Innocence.
